An African studio
for equatorial reality
We are not a Paris office with a Kinshasa mailbox. We live here. We build for 38°C heat, 6-month rains, laterite soil, intermittent power — and for the extraordinary energy of 17 million Kinois. Archetype.cd merges Belgian engineering rigor with Congolese ingenuity.

Founded in 2008 by architects Divine Ilunga and Marc Belanger, Archetype grew from a 3-person atelier in Matonge to a 48-person multidisciplinary hub in Gombe: architects, civil engineers, MEP, landscape, interior designers and a full BIM cell (Revit + Archicad). We are licensed by the Ordre National des Architectes de la RDC (ONA) and work in French and English under OHADA / Eurocode standards adapted to Congolese soil.
